From
the very beginning, the Dijk Connect Contact Centre system was designed
for optimal compatibility with New Ways of Working.
Then again, what is so new about it? For ten years, Dijk Connect has
proven that it is possible to work in a contact centre regardless of time
or location.
Our technology and creative innovation have already helped more than 900
people facing serious obstacles to employment to re-integrate into the
labour market. In 2009, more than 4.8 million telephone contacts were
processed through a combination of innovation and Corporate Social
Responsibility. The benefits of our system, however, are not just for
people who might have more difficulty obtaining regular jobs. Mobile and
highly educated people are also more frequently opting for the flexibility
of working from or closer to their homes for at least part of the time.
More and more employees would like to have flexibility in their work.
New Ways of Working obviously offers advantages to employers as well as to
employees. Reduced turnover means better and more involved, motivated
employees. It can also greatly extend the geographic reach of your
organisation. Moreover, you can expand your potential labour pool (for
example to mothers with school-aged children) and increase the loyalty of
your employees to your organisation. New Ways of Working is also a
concrete way to position your company as a modern and socially responsible
organisation. It allows you to demonstrate your Corporate Social
Responsibility in both mindset and action.
New
Ways of Working greatly enhances the possibility of new forms of working
in a contact centre: working from flexible locations, outworking or
working from satellite or flexible contact centres. Combinations of these
forms are also possible, particularly when combined with flexible working
hours and a good system for rosters and scheduling. New Ways of Working
opens up a broad range of working hours (from 9-5 to 24/7), results in
more individual influence over working hours and time blocks, and offers
better coordination with specific patterns (for example jobs during school
hours). The current, physical contact centres can be transformed into
training locations and flex-work sites.
New Ways of Working is highly feasible, but it does require the right
mindset combined with the right customisation. Effort and success depend
in part on the profiles of the employees, the type of work and the
organisation.
Dijk Connect has shown that it is possible. If you would like to know more
about the possibilities or whether the system is right for your
organisation, please feel free to contact us.
